Over 100 years of education on our historic site
In 2022, Ferncourt Public School proudly celebrated 100 years of educational excellence on our site.
This historic event was celebrated through the production of a book titled 'The Many Lives of Ferncourt. Home, Hospital, School'.
From its 1886 construction by a Polish artist and its connection to the Warren Mansion and its expansion as a much loved primary school, Ferncourt is much more than a building. A home, a place of healing and a hub of learning. Ferncourt has touched countless lives.
Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
We offer opportunities for students to take part in debating and public speaking. These activities help students build confidence and learn how to speak clearly and confidently to an audience. Our school is proud to have been highly commended in the past for our students’ great performances in inter-school debating and public speaking competitions.
Creative and performing arts
At our school, our staff have specialist skills and training in creative arts. This means your children get lots of chances to learn and grow in music, drama, dance, and art.
We take part in many performances, including events run by the Department of Education and local community celebrations. These opportunities help our students build confidence and enjoy being creative.
First Nations cultural activities
Our staff, students, and families are actively involved in activities that help us all learn about and understand First Nations cultures and histories.
Our Aboriginal Education Committee organises many authentic and meaningful experiences for First Nations families, creating strong connections and support.
All our students continue to learn about and appreciate Aboriginal culture and histories both inside the classroom and in the wider community.
